The history of aroniaberry began in North America, where the healing properties of chokeberry were already appreciated by its native inhabitants. Until now, aronia can be found on the East Coast of North America and in Canada, but they are mainly wild shrubs. The Russian fruit grower, Michurin, was responsible for bringing chokeberry to Europe, looking for plants resistant to the harsh weather conditions prevailing in Russia and at the same time rich in nutrients. From there, in the 1970s, aronia came to Poland, and scientists became interested in its properties. Thanks to their research, confirming the numerous pro-health values of aronia, that it has spread throughout Poland.
